Every year when the snow begins to melt, the residents of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories take time to reflect on the ingenuity and toughness that got us through the winter.
First among our survival tools is the humble long john – thermal underwear that serves as a Yellowknifers second skin during the long, cold winter months. We owe much to our long johns. Fortunately, we now have a chance to thank them properly every year.
Join us at the annual Long John Jamboree as we gather on the ice of Yellowknife Bay to participate in our favourite winter activities, share in some laughs, and revel in having once again prevailed over the snow and ice.
